Athleisure has been one of my favorite trends for some time now, especially on days when you just want to look effortlessly bad ass and rock that "super cool dress with sneakers" look sometimes.
I have to start off by thanking my "shoehead" brothers for getting me into sneakers.
They would know it best when it comes to super stylish Pumas, Adidas, New Balances, and anything from New York designer Ronnie Fieg, owner of KITH NYC, and his shoe collaborations.
Fieg even has the title of "sneaker colorist" under his belt and lately, I've been dying to get my first pair of ASICS gel sagas.
I guess it was all about waiting for the right shoe moment, so when this highly talked about collaboration with skateboard and street wear label, Diamond Supply Co., came about I knew I had to have them.
What makes them such a dope shoe is black leather and use of signature diamond and "Ronnie Fieg" details located on the backs and inside of the shoes.
My favorite part? The "Tiffany" blue suede toe. Wearing a black monochromatic outfit was so fitting in making the suede stand out.
For this shoot, I collaborated with Bay Area photographer and old friend, Rico. We thought it would be really cool to showcase some Oakland at Jack London Square and Oakland street art less than 10 minutes away.
Nearby on the opposite side of the street, we enjoyed some lunch after at Lucky Three Seven (shoutout to Nolan Legaspi!) for amazing filipino cuisine.
Ronnie Fieg is truly a visionary and I admire his work as a designer. By the looks of it, he seems to have hinted of a possible upcoming women's collection for KITH, which I'm looking out for.
It's sure to be FIRE! ;)
