Jumpsuits are undoubtedly one of my favorite outfit picks, I would live my life in jumpsuits if I could.
They are statement making and easy, except when having to strip down to use the restroom of course.
The low cut makes this jumpsuit dressy and perfect for a summer night out. Though, this shade and loose fitting bottom makes it daytime appropriate as well. I usually prefer darker olives (military style) but this falls into my love of pale earth tones. The fit is a little too loose on a petite frame but with most of my jumpsuits that have a longer leg, including some tweaks and hemming can make it work.
I love this unique M.A.C. (Morning After Clutch), that has a tweed multi-color navajo print with black hardware detail. It's technically a clutch, so I sometimes like to treat as an over-sized one.
Funny story behind this bag.
I bought this at a Rebecca Minkoff sample sale in San Francisco (first ever and only actually) and it can be as crazy as it's portrayed in movies. You do wait in a ridiculously long line and hope to be the first one there but are usually beat out by groups of ladies are already sitting down, waiting to score a deal on the newest styles, and plotting the different ways to jump ahead of you.
It's every woman for herself.
Juuuuuuuust kidding.
Although, I DID give in to the whole rush and excitement of things and grabbed a bunch of bags that were wrapped up. I began to unveil this one, which to my surprise, was the only bag like it in the room. I looked around searching for a similar style or different color but instead saw girls catching on to what I've found and eyeing this particular bag. Some started following me and watching my every move to see if I'd give it up and put it back. Girls even had their boyfriends ready with a game plan to initiate such an attack. I also got asked several times if they can "touch it."
But I wouldn't let go.
I know, recounting that memory seems so silly and even though the idea of a sample sale is actually a little comical, it strangely saved my life - it made me feel special. It was this unexplainable (not to mention unavoidable) feeling that made me feel empowered, walking around like I was a gravitational pull in that room. I truly felt of the moment.
I never would have known that something like a material thing would help me trust my intuition in working towards a career in a creative industry. But it's more than that, it's working towards something that will make me happy, something that will make me feel good about myself. I take little signs like this to heart so much because I believe that being happy is the only way we should live.
This bag is my simple reminder of the life I only dream of living.
To achieve happiness in our lives, I hope we can all encourage each other to follow our passions in life. I still may be lost at times and not know exactly what I'm doing, but I believe that whatever these passions may lead to, only goodness can come from it.
