My mood is semi-inspired by #GucciGarden. We are a generation obsessed with all things pop up, Instagrammable museums, wall art, & more which I'm definitely guilty of - I love me a good mural. More than just a museum located in the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence, this exhibit has two floors of several themed rooms (with plenty photo ops), including one that explores old and new advertising campaigns filled with brilliant copy. This time, it's created by none other than social media, to prove that the internet always wins,
The journey inside the exhibition space that spans across two floors begins inside ‘Guccification’, the room where the Double G motif features in many forms up until its transgressive state created by artist Trouble Andrew for Gucci Ghost and the latest ways of writing the House’s name—Guccy, Guccify and Guccification—found by Alessandro Michele through tags on Instagram.
It's SO interesting to see how much we're posting, expressing, and being heard on our own platforms and making a huge impact on arts & culture. Oh, and this exhibit also has a small cinema and its own restaurant. Eat, sleep, gucci, repeat. 🤷♀️
Spring is a time of awakening to me in the spiritual sense and literal sense. I'm a Spring baby and around this time everything is the start of a new beginning. Since it's still winter, I love the play on words with, "Baby, It's Warm Outside." The fact that I'm even mentioning it speaks volumes of how my mind is always running at work but I really admire incredibly smart, sexy, and witty copy and draw inspo from it, always.
This is the very first mood of 2018 and the second time I've added different elements of texture. I've collected this fabric as a leftover sample from work with this almost translucent, burnout velvet floral pattern, highlighting the dead roses that tie the rest of the mood in a wonderful way. I've also added inspiration from different colors I hope to incorporate more in my wardrobe, the light orange swatch to the left and hints of the powder blue from the Spring 2018 runways.
When you create a mood board all it takes is to start building and going with whatever feels natural. I know it's right when I take a step back to look at it and think, "Yup, this is the #mood right now."
Spring awakening is a forever #mood.
