"Your writing is so good!"
"You should keep writing!"
"Your writing is excellent!"
"I'm a writer."
Wait. I'm a writer?
These are phrases and words that I never believed to be true. I've always dreaded writing and as a creative, you will never believe the work you put out into the world is ever good enough.
Is anyone even reading this?
I never even thought writing or writers in general were ever important AKA these professions never paid well.*
Then I pursued a degree in journalism/public relations.
When persistence is in the pursuit of perfection, writing has been both a hobby and skill that's been developed over time. You are challenged, but in some of the most unlikely circumstances and in ways that became surprisingly fun for me. I think of old stories I've written on Word, secret diary passages I would never publish, to overthinking the words I'm crafting in a work email.
So I created a blog.
That I refer to (or disguise) as a visual diary. Though, who was I kidding? Of course writing is involved.
You would think that writing was a thing of mine?
Nope.
But I kept writing.
Ultimately, when it comes to those who can relate to my modern day challenges, my views, my positivity, my passions, those who I can help inspire and touch through my words, you're the reason why I do it. I owe you a big, huge THANK YOU because you are to blame for the life I'm living right now.
Seriously though, I appreciate all your feedback and your support over the years of something that I set out to do just for the hell of it but has become so much more than that.
You have proved to me that words are p o w e r f u l.
The truth is, anyone can write. I encourage you to use your power and share your story.
You're also probably wondering: Can you make writing a full time job?
Yes.
So keep writing.
That pays though?
The answer is yes.
Keep writing.
At 25 years old, I am a creative writer.
So here's to you, keep doing what you've always dreamt of and it will make your life easier.
I feel like I'm currently living the #writersdream but there's so much more that I want to do.
