The annual Met Gala held in New York city (also called the Met Ball) is considered the "Superbowl" event of the Fashion world where celebrities, designers, and artists fundraise and show support for the exhibit all with daring and some VERY out there creative expression.
This wouldn't exactly be your average Cinderella ball gown type of night because did you see the head dress on SJP? #sorrynotsorry
It is honoring costume art, after all.
I give a lot of credit to being up to date on the Met Gala through social media, with my favorite brands posting and reposting their top gowns and dramatic arrivals. It really gets me excited when I see Snapchat showcasing these events on the app!
The looks of the night that stand out to me are definitely those that make me do a double take, but also those special "WOW" moments that stay close to the theme.
This year it was, "China: Through the Looking Glass," which they recognize as capturing more of an Oriental and Western reflection of China within the exhibit more so than raw Chinese culture (I educated myself on the topic of the exhibit and what they would want you to know about it, here).
Almost a lot of the looks featured beautiful geisha-esque red lips and although the supermodels of the world look completely fantastic, these are some favorite looks that stood out the most.
