It's really no surprise that Natalie Portman is a phenomenal actress with one of the most inspiring faces I've ever seen. She is, in fact, the face of one of the biggest beauty campaigns, Miss Dior. She's admirable not only for her beauty but her brains too (she's a Harvard grad) and doesn't take herself too seriously which is why I love her so much!
Her character performance of Alice Ayers in Closer (2004), is nothing short of compelling and captures beauty and pain all in one. She even beat out Meryl Streep for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her acting chops.
I've always loved movies that make you think a little deeper about life and the other actors including Jude Law, Clive Owen (also nominated), and Julia Roberts are also phenomenal in making this such a rare film to come by.
Portman delivers the most understated lines which have even inspired song titles and lyrics (Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco). How does she do it? My own words can't exactly describe what the movie is all about other than four strangers and these deep messy love triangles they go through.
But it's better if you watch the movie.
